My life...biography or autobiography?
By Sonu Shamdasani
English
Making use of an abundance of additional sources, some of which have never been published, the author sheds light on the long hidden circumstances surrounding the drafting and publication of the work published in French under the title: Ma vie. Souvenirs, rêves, pensées, collected by A. Jaffé. Although Jung’s attitude toward the project fluctuated, it was usually unenthusiastic, from its inception to the final phase, which death prevented him from supervising. The author argues that despite the way the work has always been read, it cannot be interpreted as Jung’s own autobiography.
