By Françoise Le Hénand
English

The author develops the idea that, for certain patients, in its aftermath, the end of analysis can provoke a resurgence of early traumata associated with the awareness that an irreversible separation has occurred, similar to birth for the infant. In these cases, a specific type of post-analytic support is necessary to allow the patient to elaborate the trauma of the suffering. The author illustrates his essay with two clinical case studies, one of which deals with a trans-generational exile problem complex.
