Economic Poverty and psychoanalysis. Essay

By Mariette Mignet
English

This essay is an effort to explore the experience of poverty, in its individual and collective aspects, based on the research of sociologists and economists, psychoanalytic case studies, and the experience which is impossible to convey without using poetry. Although poverty does contain a certain form of wealth, the traumatic primary experience of misery lived as such by the parents and transmitted to the offspring in his body and psyche creates a poverty complex which is prejudicial both to the individual and to the group.
