The matter of the work: sublimatio

This study of the transformation process is based on the creation of illuminations from high Medieval Times, resituated in their context. This particular artistic practice, which could be termed alchemical, is used as the metaphor to describe the bodily and psycho-emotional transformation which takes place in analysis. In the production of images, we can observe the personification and interaction of the complexes at the core of Jungian psychology. The essay is illustrated by the images which are analyzed, and some reproductions of illuminations.
