Of tastes and fragrances

Taste and smell are our most archaic senses – and yet, they evidently maintain bonds with the highest processes of knowledge. They seem to be akin to the most animal parts of ourselves as well as our most supra-human aspects. It is interesting to interpret this as a sign that these senses invite us to engage in a major conjunction of opposites.
