The film The Truman Show is an autoreflexive staging of the interplay of the archetypes, especially that of the hero, who confronts false archetypes constructed by human will. The author analyzes the film in terms of archetypes, the libido, and the call of destiny in the film’s hero, Truman Burbank, and places it within the context of the present and predictable reality of the today’s world.
