Lucas and his little hand

Though neither Jung, Fordham, nor Neumann explicitly used the term “narcissism”, they examined it through the concepts of the Self and its defenses. The treatment of a pre-adolescent patient with a severely deformed left hand, Lucas, illustrates the course taken by a narcissistic restoration in the prospective dynamic of that stage in life.
