About models between neuroscience and psychoanalysis

There has been a renewal of interest in theories of the body/mind relationship, thanks to progress with central nervous system exploration techniques. The latest findings are somewhat akin to to psychoanalytic theories, although a mixture of terms, concepts, and fields of investigation makes a comparison of the two difficult. Jung’s dynamic model and his theory of the archetype might find some echo in the new concepts. However, the neurobiological theories ignore the very essence of the psychoanalytic model: to wit, the question of meaning and the symbolization process.
