Autism. Diversity of researchs in neurobiology

Autism is a “fashionable” pathology. It is the subject of much disagreement among care providers, and a well-funded field of research. Neurobiologists have been exploring the brain anatomy of autistic persons, seeking dysfunctions which might explain the source of the pathology or pinpoint its symptoms, and this article reviews this research. Nevertheless, no one should jump to conclusions on the basis of the findings, because there is no way to determine whether the dysfunctions which have been identified are a cause, or an effect, of autism.
