Would have there a neurophysiological basis for transference?

In this article, the author surveys recent findings in the neurosciences: neuroplasticity, models of memory, how representations are formed, phantom-limb phenomena, Damasio’s theory on affect, mirror neurons, and cerebral chaos theory. He then suggests some unity between theories of neuroscience and psychoanalysis, principally Jung’s analytic psychology. The article ends with a clinical vignette and its reinterpretation in light of theories of cognitive science.
