Power and psychopathic inferiority

Cynical, corrupt political leaders proliferate, even in societies which enjoy free, democratic elections and freedom of the press. For some reason, voters continue to choose candidates consumed by insatiable ambition at the expense of integrity. Why are self-centered, authoritarian, inefficient, and talentless individuals handed the power to govern and legislate? The irrepressible desire to dominate and be dominated is one of the most complex, misunderstood, and disconcerting of the human passions. Some dimension of power is closely tied to psychopathic inferiority, a “zone of least resistance.” This psychological space, lacking a structure, hurls us into the void.
