Sand-play and the creativity of the unconscious

The creativity of the unconscious in sand play seems evident. A proliferation of images, especially archetypal ones, emerge and take part in a drama that unfolds in the space of the sandbox and the time of the session. The author cites five clinical vignettes to show that this creativity is associated with the whole of the analytical context of which sand play is a part, not just the action in the sandbox.
