“The Woven Self”

By Catherine Briand
English

A fish net is used as the physical support for this collective weaving project, allowing each participant to use the workshop as a safe place to unwind the threads of a symbolic voyage. Threads, ribbons and cloth are the tools that will illustrate the stories and awaken the imagination. From within the mesh a sensation will emerge to give meaning to life in the present. The act becomes therapeutic through the support of the art therapist who encourages and accompanies individual expression. These moments of creation are reinforced through trans-generational, anthropological and philosophical founding texts.
