Liber Novus - Composition for Viola and two Baritones

By Caroline Chauveau
English

Liber Novus is an original vocal score for alto and two baritones inspired by an encounter with C. G. Jung’s Red Book. The composer invites us to follow her path as a musician and creator, highly influenced by the importance of the sounds of languages and the voice. Her piece offers us the musical resonances of the Jungian categories of the shadow and the anima, but especially that of circumambulation, in the form of a sound mandala.
