Primitive money and modern money

Money is not as universal as it is said to be. Although today, you can theoretically buy almost anything, in archaic societies, money bought almost nothing. If it did, it had to go through an incredibly complex maze of detours. Money was not a way of buying; it was a way of paying, from the verb “pacify.” It was a way of settling one’s debts, beginning with the debt of life.
