Laura’s story: A protest of the self
By Élisabeth Conesa
English
The self is present in the child as soon as life begins. Before the child can talk, he or she can protest and be heard, impelled by the bodily and relational selves working together. The author retraces the course of a child’s therapy to show us a protestation of the self which is “authenticated” by the analyst in her relational-self function.
