Exploring the negative pole of the Child archetype through a re-reading of Jung’s Answer to Job
By Ève Pilyser
English
Referring to Jung’s book Answer to Job, and associating it with cross-generational parts of Jung’s life, the author continues her study of the counter-Œdipus, the parent›s projections of the Oedipus complex. The concept challenges the constellation of the Child archetype on the negative, “diabolical” pole. The Child (described at length in the Answer) constellated on the positive pole is divine. This reinterpretation provides new insight into borderline-state psychological structures.
