What pain?

Analyzing three literary texts, each of which contains the word “douleur” [pain] in the title, the author attempts to uncover some insights into the common notion of pain. A polymorphic experience outside of time that can nevertheless become long-lasting, this psychological ordeal is bound to the body of every human being.
