The interactive intersection of male/female and mother/father inequalities
By Ève Pilyser
English
The author suggests that the natural inequalities between the maternal and paternal functions are the hidden mirror image of inequalities between men and women. An interactive articulation between these two lines of force sustains gender inequalities in society. Incursions into mythology, from Genesis to Olympia, along with a clinical vignette, shed light on this point of view.
