The memory of time to come: The experience of regression

The confrontation with the unconscious Jung relates in the chapter by that name in his autobiography Ma vie, souvenirs, rêves et pensées took place within the context of a special relationship to time, in which present, past, and future were continually mingled. This was a physical experience, as is always the case for patients in analysis. Moreover, both Jung and Proust found the path to time regained by engaging involuntary memory and the return of sensations it elicits.
