Jung and alchemy: A link between past and present in the service of the future

First, the article retraces the genesis and growth of the link between Jung and alchemy. Jung perceived singular parallels between analytic psychology and alchemy, in the connection between past and present. Jung then went on to compare the various stages of the alchemical process with those of individuation. Regression to the nigredo is a decisive step in gaining access to the riches of the unconscious, an unexplored potential, the source of an evolution to come in which we take an active part.
