Trauma and temporality: On La Jetée, film by Chris Marker

Chris Marker’s 1962 film La Jetée is presented in reference to the explorations of the colloquium Jung and the Alchemy and Time. The theme is the value of an image, especially an image of childhood, as well as the traces that may be left by images produced by trauma. How can psychic life be reorganized after an individual or collective trauma like the one experienced by the hero of the film? What role will the imaginary play in the therapeutic process of the traumatic memories? By which paths leading to otherness will the individual be able to find a future?
