Plant intelligence: Revolution or fiction?

Up until recently, the vegetal kingdom occupied only a limited space in the field of contemporary thought. Technical progress has made it possible to make data available to botanists allowing to question such fundamental notions as life and death. New properties appear in plants, giving rise to anthropomorphic interpretations. This leads to the need for a renewal of the relationship between humans and plants. Some scientists believe the time has come for an intellectual revolution. The author puts Jung’s notion of ‘worldview’ at work, and she confronts it with the multiple aspects of change.
