Living the earth as a sacred circle

While Westerners have long had an ambivalent relationship with the earth, Native Americans, like Archie Fire Lame Deer, consider it as a generous mother where everything is interconnected. For them, it is essential to respect the Earth, and all living beings, from stones to plants, from insects to mammals to humans. Their rituals and medicine wheel reveal their deep devotion to their Mother-Earth. This conception of nature is consistent with Jung’s who, since his childhood, has felt the sacredness of the earth. Nowadays, Westerners realize the urgency of respecting it. At the end of an analysis, practicing shamanism can be an enriching experience and renew the way we look at others, life and nature.
