Ecopsychology or the poetic breath of an intellectual revolution

Ecopsychology is a new paradigm that emerged in the 1990s in the United States. Its main thesis is the existence of a continuum between the psyche (inner life, soul, consciousness/unconscious, secret garden) and living nature, the animated cosmos. In this continuum, which is based on a “unity of the world”, images, sensory perceptions, feelings, thoughts, emotions, intuitions and forms, flow. Even if it was born in the context of the awareness of the severity of the environmental drama, ecopsychology can be explored through the multiple paths of objective knowledge and inner experience, with poetry, scientific speech, art, spirituality. Here, the philosophers and writers Theodore Roszak and Michel Cazenave will be our guides.
