Original bisexuality today
The author chooses to reflect upon the bisexuality of our origins and how it manifests in individuals, in the times we share. Starting with Greek myths and Hindu religion, we arrive at current investigations and experiments in making this bisexuality appear. Like Freud in his era, we interrogate sexual construction on the basis of biological givens. We are surprised at the many confusions regarding the psychological construction of sexual identity, as well as the small amount of consideration for the processes leading to this construction in early childhood. The wish to change gender is a wish to be a single gender: the one we don’t have; another confusion between androgyny, hermaphroditism, and identity. With the concept of the anima/animus, Jung gave us keys that open such possibilities, as creative for the individual as they are for the relationship with the other.
