How does one extricate oneself from a deadly space and allow one’s true nature to breathe? The depth of this child’s drawings assisted in the effort, throughout the creative process. The turtle Timéo draws, a symbol of the self, comes to life. The turtle is a shared spacer and guide that enables us to respect the child’s inner temporality. It also helps us endure the tension and accommodate the emotions hidden in the unconscious. Between the Titanic, a metaphor for masked depression and the Hermione, that of Timéo’s own inner restoration, the turtle will help us prevent the risks of negative contamination and regulate peaks of anxiety during the therapeutic process, but also in the course of this writing work.
