Spirits of nature
By Christiane Fonseca
English
Nature spirits have existed in every culture from the most ancient times. They are usually part of an invisible world that, in certain traditions, is sacred. It may be a matter of the return of the dead, as it is in Jung’s writings, of the breath of the elements, in alchemical conceptions, of the world of nature in shamanistic cultures, surviving vestiges of animistic societies, or the magic of fairy creatures.
