Violence and metamorphosis in the chrysalis of nationalism: Transformation’s necessary unmaking
By Carolyn Bates
English
Using an active imagination, the author relates the case of an analytical treatment of Democracy, encircled by nationalism and having to resist the many attacks made against her. She seeks to rediscover the link with her mother’s tribal origins, to finally break free from a suffocating, paralyzing patriarchy and enable a plural, living identity to emerge from the chrysalis.
