The Perverse and the Transcendent

The transcendent function is explored as it works in a man afflicted with severe masochism. Connection is made between the transcendent function and the Transcendent, the former acting as a principal way we experience the latter. Through the transcendant function, as it appears in the transference and dreams, an anima figure emerges that is distinct from the masochistic complex, and his religious instinct is then activated.
