Response to Winnicott

Far from being a scientific commentary on Jung’s biography, Winnicott’s text would more likely appear to be a sort of breakthrough of the repressed which can be read on another level as revelatory of what he himself reproaches Jung. By seeking to pathologize Jung, Winnicott avoids going into what constitutes Jung’s specificity. But this relatively frequent shift in meaning might provide an opportunity for Jungian analysts to ask themselves what elements of Jung’s style of theorizing could be misleading.
