The androgynous and hermaphroditic figures each contain, in their own way, an episode in the life of a couple. The androgynous figure would be the initial phase, which may lead to anything; whereas the latter resembles an unsuccessful love affair. This stop-action shot is nevertheless indicative. Are these romances still relevant, in our times? How do we accommodate this knowledge?
