Based on the evolution of the transferential process in a cure where the question of the differentiation of the paternal imago was crucial, the author describes the transference as a double mirror, a means for the evolution of the narcissistic transference. According to him, this transference unfolds to the rhythm of a seduction waltz which implicates the analyst as much as it does the analysand. Lastly, he demonstrates that in transference, the constitution and differentiation of the paternal imago can resume, carried forward by the three-beat seduction of this waltz.
