Otherness in Present Time

A critical reading of Jung’s 1934 text entitled “Zur gegenwärtigen Lage der Psychotherapie”: Although the particular approach to psychoanalysis described by Jung in this essay is valuable in some respects, it is also fraught with risks and pitfalls. In sum, attention to symbolic life may lead to the misinterpretation or ignorance of events, encounters, and responsibilities in one’s immediate proximity.
