Jung introduces the concepts of introversion and extroversion for the first time, as factors helping to define the opposition between the two major nosographic categories of his time : dementia praecox and hysteria. These concepts were later broadened to normal psychic functioning, theorized by Jung in its relative subjectivity, including its intellectual and scientific production, with psychoanalytic theories also being subject to this limitation.
