Toni Wolff Studien zu C.G. Jungs Psychologie

This essay is excerpted from the book by Italian Jungian analyst Nadia Neri Des femmes dans l’ombre de Jung (« Oltre l’Ombra. Donne intorno a Jung – Women in Jung’s Shadow »), soon to be published in French. In the chapter about Toni Wolff, we chose to point out the specificity of the work of this woman, who accompanied Jung throughout her life. We show the reader that her interpretations are rooted in philosophical reflection, and emphasize the attention and interest she devoted to feminine psychology. Neri describes Wolff’s specifically feminine typology in enough detail to demonstrate how innovative it was for its time. The publication of the excerpt ends with a few biographical facts about this largely unknown thinker, in addition to the story of the dream Jung had the day after he learned of her death.
