Born innocent or guilty, locked in the bedroom

Families that have been the victims of violence that is a part of public history sometimes hand down to the next generation unelaborated traumas that remain unconscious. These pathogenic transgenerational transmissions are a product of a family’s culture and history. The analysand often finds himself to be guilty of inflicting similar violence on himself, his family, or other people. The tension of the opposites can produce a solution through the integration of the shadow, effecting a movement of transformation. The author provides an analytical case history showing this at work.
