The paths of a heretic
By Daniel Raby
English
Giordano Bruno, an introverted and solitary thinker whose ideas are expressed in terms of conflict, was a visionary and a pioneer. The heretic is characterized by being ahead of his time. However, although heresy is a group phenomenon, Bruno acted alone. His courage, noted by Jung, involved exile, wandering, and foreign lands. His psychic structure drove him to break off from the Great Mother. The sacrifice of this bond was painful and demanded a heroic position.
