Synchronicity, an epistemological reverie…

Interrogating the status of the synchronicity thesis, as presented by Jung in 1952, the author finds that it appears to be an attempt to reconcile metaphysics and science. As such, it is not only doomed to fail ; it is also an inadequate model for explaining the workings of the unconscious. Today, it seems appropriate to sacrifice the transcendent aura the thesis contains in order to make it applicable to the psychoanalytic field.
