Based on W. Jensen’s Gradiva, this article points out the impact of conscious and even unconscious choices and decisions upon any process of analytical psychology. It then investigates the attention the analyst should devote to such choices, as well as the respective positions of the ego and the unconscious recognized in Jungian practice. These positions are the key to the healing process.
