The analyst facing his desire

A discussion of the elements comprising love-transference, a symbolic expression for the feelings, emotions, and affects born elsewhere, which, in the here-and-now of the psychoanalytic sessions, are instrumental in lifting the veil which hides the truth. As a result, the two partners in the exchange find themselves confronted with their own histories – albeit in different ways. Moreover, the analyst is forced to consider his motivations, and must constantly be questioning himself.
