This article highlights the influence of Jung’s work on the development of a new school, called ecopsychology, and the many practices it has engendered. The movement is based on the idea that the only way for human beings to deal with the apocalyptic threats represented by environmental crisis is to undergo an inner transformation. Otherwise, no outer change is possible. Like Jung, ecopsychologists question the cultural process that has caused Western civilization to be disconnected from nature. The article features the unique contributions that several Jungian psychoanalysts have made to ecopsychology.
