By Riadh Ben Rejeb
English

This text was written in the form of an imaginary dialogue with the late Abdelwahab Bouhdiba, holder of an agrégation in philosophy and director of the sociology department at the University of Tunis. Bouhdiba was appointed to several high-ranking administrative and academic positions in Tunisia, both as part of the university and within the research centres. His writings and original theoretical elaborations, often on the basis of Jungian studies, are landmarks in sociological literature. He published the first essay on psychoanalysis in the Tunisian environment, as well as the first book on Islam and sexuality, and a study of the importance of early sensoriality in the psychological development of the Maghrebi child. He is also known for having suggested a discussion of the “Jawdar Complex”.
