From Wanting to Desiring: Somatic Learning, an Ecology of Gesture
By Agnès Calmel
English
The author, a Feldenkrais teacher, discusses the method with the Cahiers editors. She explains that the concepts of desire, consent, will, and pleasure are central to the Feldenkrais method. She invites us to discover how this movement therapy is based on suspending the conscious will, in order to allow the awareness of the self in movement, the curiosity of exploration, the intention that precedes action to emerge, as well as sensitive questioning, supported by attentive and subtle listening.
