Using a research study focused on big dreams and the queer self, this paper explores the process in which a Big Dream can suddenly and radically end dissociative states induced by intergenerational trauma and cultural oppression. During this experience archetypal material emerge, transmuted: the dream heals and empowers the dreamer, revealing unformulated unconscious identities; shifting the dreamer’s worldview; and uncovering a new sense of Self anchored in the collective.
